Yunnan is not especially known for producing oolongs, so this tea is something of a rarity. This particular tea farmer moved to Dali from Taiwan, and he brought his tea with him. He uses the famous Taiwan tea cultivar - Qing Xin - which is used for Taiwan High Mountain oolongs. In Yunnan, he grows and produces this tea with a very light roast. It is incredibly floral and fragrant, with a honey-like sweetness that lingers in the mouth and throat. That aroma also lingers in the bottom of the cup.
This tea comes to us by way of Master Chan, who is friends with the farmer. A small quantity is available. We tasted it at Master Chan's tea house on our recent sourcing trip and we immediately wanted to share it.
