"Sweet Rice Leaf," grown in the mountains of China's Yunnan Province, is known for its natural scent that is akin to that of sweet rice. Chopped up Sweet Rice leaves are added to Pu-erh leaves during fermentation. The result is a ripe Pu-erh that offers a warming and sweet rice scent. This tea is pressed in 8g mini coins and is convenient for use at home, in the office or during travel.

Brewing guide

Use 8 grams (1 coin) in 6 oz pot or cup. Brew with 212 F degree water (100 C).

Sweet Rice Scent Ripe Pu-erh Tea

My brother gave me a sample of this tea and I couldn't wait to order more of my own! It is so smooth and the scent of sweet rice is intoxicating. I use only half a coin and get numerous steeps from that half coin. I also cannot say enough good things about the customer service at Bana Teas. I reached out to them regarding an existing order and received a reply immediately. These are fantastic quality teas and their customer service is top notch.

Fantastic

Sublime. I'm a raw pu-erh fan, but employing a lighter brewing technique with this little gem makes a for a very enjoyable experience. The aroma is instantly calming, the mouthfeel is gentle, and the taste is simultaneously rich and light. It's like a savory dessert.

Everyday Favorite

I discovered this Sweet Rice tea from a sampler pack (also note that I discovered pu-erh and Bana through Lisa See's book) and I love it. I drink it every morning. It smells like rice and has a flavor that is so smooth.

A must try

I'm a long time lover of red, green and white tea who is recently exploring the depths of Pu Erh.
This was part of a sample and was honestly the last one I was interested in because my focus has been discovering the qualities of various raw and ripe Pu Erh of various vintages to establish a baseline of understanding them. The thought of something being added to "flavor" the Pu Erh was not something I was looking for.
All that said, I loved this sample and will absolutely be ordering more. I highly recommend trying it.
The flavor and aroma is a divine pairing of Pu Erh and sweet rice. Like green tea scented with jasmine flowers, it's a perfect pairing. It's something to experience to truly appreciate.
Thank you Lisa and Bana Tea Company for having such incredibly high quality products and top notch service. You have brought so much enjoyment to learning about and experiencing my first steps into Pu Erh (and so many others have also said similarly).

I began by purchasing a sampler after reading “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane.�? I was so interested to try Pu-erh tea! Of the samples, my favorite was the Sweet Rice Scent and I have ordered it multiple times. The fragrance is earthy and it brings back memories for me.
