This is a classic traditional pu-erh tea that has been stored in the Hong Kong warehouses.  This style of raw pu-erh typically refers to teas that were stored and aged in environments that are humid, such as places like Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia.  Due to the high humidity and the resulting changes of the leaves, the color of the tea broth is darker and the mouthfeel is very smooth, resulting in a tea that can sometimes be mistaken for a ripe pu-erh.  This style of pu-erh is very popular among pu-erh drinkers in Hong Kong.

Velvety smooth and mellow, this tea is clean, thick and lively.  In addition, it offers a cooling and sweet finish that is savory and relaxing.

Precious Heritage

By Scott Bond
This puerh is a great example of why HK style storage has been so popular over the years. This raw puerh has a rich and clean flavor without any undesirable storage odor or taste. Very nice feeling in the mouth and the tea is calm and relaxing in the body. Subtle wood and mushroom and a pronounced sweetness in all of the steeps. A wonderful tea to enjoy any time of day, my favorite is in the early evening. Great experience to share with friends.

Sweet mushroom broth.

By Neal Perrin
This pureh is a new experience for me sweet mushroom broth. Clean smooth and delishous a real treat indeed hope to buy more.
Our Response:

This is the old style raw pu-erh that most older generation Hong Kongers like. Glad you like it.

Old tea with qi!

By Cody
My wife relies on this tea to pick her up during overwhelming and busy days. The murky, warm brown tea broth smells of delicious wet bark , freshly turned straw and quickly transport me to a dreamy barnyard. A sweet and lovely mushroom quality that didn't overpower or put me off (i don't like the ripe puerhs as much) . For us, the qi energy this tea delivers is second to no other puer in level of positivity and drive. A special tea in our collection.

My fav!!

By Olivia Oldaker
It's been my favorite aged raw for the last couple of years on this site. So well balanced, rounded deep tea. It's great for gongfu, prefers seasoned clay pot to open it fully. I keep it for a special occasion such as a deep meaningful conversation or decision making.
Our Response:

This tea takes me back to my days growing up in Hong Kong.

Silk Road

By Sylvan Schneider
This tea is so smooth like silk. I consider this to have a nice silky mouthfeel with a nice round texture. I didn’t find this tea to have a big bold flavors that stuck out, just very smooth and mellow tasting. What was surprising is how many brews you can get out of it. I did short and long brews with this tea and both were very good. I definitely felt what’s considered QI from this tea, it’s stimulating and energizing.
Our Response:

You are so right about this tea. It is a classic Hong Kong style raw pu-erh - smooth, mellow, and easy on your body.

A Trip back in time

By Raj
I brewed this one according to the package instructions. 5g of leaves in a 150ml pot. It stands up well to the heat and the first cup was just as savory as the last.
As I sat in my rocker, savoring its earthy, chilled and smooth flavor, getting lost in my thoughts… imagining myself setting in the dim light of a marketplace tea shop in Hong Kong as I sipped a cup of this fine brew…
Before picking up my evening read, I lit a candle, to add a bit of warmth to not only the room, but to take the chill off the extraordinary cooling effect it has, as you sip it…
This tea is a darker brew as described on Bana’s web-site, and I could see how one could mistake it for a Ripe Pu’erh.
It is so thick, smooth and velvety, it is my desert and is truly relaxing as I wind down for the evening to read, or listen to some slow whiskey blue jams and taking a moment for reflection.
If you haven’t tried this one, you are in for a treat.
Our Response:

Thank you, Raj, for your nice review. I totally agree with you. A well-aged pu-erh transports us back in time and specific place - a truly relaxing moment.
