Taste characteristics:
Master Chan has honed his knowledge and experience to produce the highest quality pu-erh teas. Several years ago, he experimented using leaves harvested from arbor trees picked during the spring harvest and fermented them using the local mountain spring water. The finished ripe pu-erh is aged for a few years to improve its overall quality.

The Noble Scholar is made under the above-mentioned high standards as evidenced by its thickness, silkiness, and richness. Master Chan advises those who own this tea to pay attention to its soft but rich mouthfeel, its clarity, and its savory finish.

This tea is beautifully packaged in a red box with a gold-embossed design. Each order contains two blocks of ~50g each. Each block contains six squares of ~8g each. Also available in a collector's case of 8 boxes (total 800 grams).

Bold, strong, balanced

By Timothy Doherty
I love big, bold, flavorful ripe puerhs that can be pushed and this is an excellent addition to that collection. I tend to brew strong so I don't get as many steeps out of a ripe than some might get, but I enjoy it more when it's that strong. After the initial rinse I brew: 1st steep 30 sec, 2nd 1 min, then 3rd for 3 or more minutes. By the 3rd steep it's as strong and flavorful as a perfectly brewed espresso. A nice oily mouthfeel accompanies these stronger brews as well. Very happy with this tea, will definitely be buying more.
Our Response:

Thank you for your review and for re-ordering this tea. We are so glad that this tea meets your criteria of your favorite ripe pu-erh.
