My tea tasting kit has arrived for book club next week. It is beautiful, and we are eager to taste the tea and discuss Lady Tan's Circle of Women.
Previously we were able to find a large cake of pu ehr tea for tasting when we read the Tea Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane.

The two flavors of tea were "the icing on the cake" for our book club discussion of Lady Tan's Circle of Women. We sipped both of them as we tried painting bamboo with black ink on rice paper. They added so much to our enjoyment of the book. I was amazed that the teas could be steeped over and over - that made the cost a bargain.

My book club met today, getting together at Judy's for lunch and discussion. We had the Mandarin tea. It was lovely and everyone enjoyed it. Happy that you sent brewing directions. I'm familiar with decanting wine but none of us had seen that word used with tea. The process was easy. Judy had a beautiful Chinese teapot set. I would love to send you a photo.
When we read her book, The Tea Girl..., some years ago, we met at a local tea house here in Albuquerque.
I would recommend to others reading this to purchase the kit.

I wanted to write to share my book group’s enjoyment of your beautiful tea sampler. I asked a couple of the members to take charge of the tea making and the directions you provided made it easy and fun while I got the food out to the tables. While we certainly enjoyed both, the jasmine tea seemed better suited to our warm fall day and the menu (various dim sum, shredded chicken wrapped in lettuce leaves, peach- mozzarella- tomato salad, egg custard tarts). I personally enjoyed the tea packed in the mandarin orange peel but think it more suitable to a cooler day.
Thank you for the tea’s contribution to enhancing our discussion of Lisa See’s enchanting book. I may have mixed Chinese teas in a Japanese tea pot but the taste was no less lovely.

These teas arrive promptly in a sweet little tied packet, re-usable for just about anything you want. The teas steep beautifully, easily, and it seems as if their flavors bloom more with each delicate sip. Impossible not to enjoy.

The lovely bad the tea came in is a nice surprise--it is very pretty. The tea leaves make a lot of tea, too, so at first glance it seemed a small amount, but in fact, it makes a good amount. A very nice package that adds to the fun of a book club meeting.

I read the Lady Tan's Circle of Women along with my daughter and granddaughter and ordered each of us the Book Club Tea Tasting Kit. The tea was very delicious and the beautiful pouch it came in is a great keepsake to help us remember the experience of reading the book and discussing it over a cup of tea. We each found a unique tea pot that we owned but never used and had a great FaceTime book talk with our tea.

This was a lovely tea kit! I bought it as a gift for my mother after we both read the book. The brochade bag is so beautiful and well made. The Silver Needle Jasmine tea was heavenly and the Bamboo-clasp Green Mandarin Pu-erh was a fun experience, and very interesting to prepare. I would highly recommend it especially if you read the book, Lady Tan's Circle of Women.

Sorry for the confusion. The difference between the two kits is the brewing instructions. The book club kit is to be used one time for a larger group while the individual kit can be used for more than one tasting.

The packaging and informative leaflet were attractive and helpful. Our group really enjoyed both teas, with a preference for the aromatic jasmine especially. I used a tea strainer for the jasmine due to the loose leaves, whereas the Mandarin is self-contained. To serve our group of 14, we brewed 2 pots each using half of the teas, so there's leftover for another time.

The teas are of high qualities so you can use the leaves several times to make enough tea for the group. Great to know you will have tea again at your future meeting.

14 women in our Books 'n Brie group loved the experience of sharing a centuries old tradition while enjoing another Lisa See novel. We are all fans!
We had two separate set of tea cups and were able to sample and sip to compare the two teas. 50/50 for favorites.

we really enjoyed these delicious teas for our book club. I don’t know what to do with the lovely little bag that they came in, but it was a charming presentation. When I really want to drink tea, I will ignore the packaging and just order the tea. I was disappointed not to have more!

Last night my bookclub members were blown away with these delicious teas. They are so easy to brew and we experienced the most impressive flavors any of ladies had ever had. Thanks to Lisa See’s recommendation the tea tasting was a hugh hit. Everyone wanted the name of Bana Tea, so I think you will be getting quite a few orders from Naples, Florida. I am a member of the oldest Bookclub in our city, Coconut River Book Club.

Our book club read Lady Tan’s Circle of Women for the month of March, 2024. It was especially fun to have some samples of the tea described in the book. We had about 12 ladies and were almost equally divided on which was the favorite. The Jasmine tea’s sweet floral flavor was favored by about six ladies and the earthy flavor of the tangerine peel tea also had several votes.
The directions were excellent and added to our experience. It was amazing to sample tea that was available centuries ago.

There was another reviewer who said her bookclub members were also equally divided in terms of what they liked between the two teas. Tea is very diverse - it has different flavor profiles to suit everyone's palate. Thank you for taking the time to share your tasting experience.

Wow awesome tea! We got this for our library book club and it added a wonderful extra element to the events as we served tea and snack on fine china.
The jasmine tea especially was enjoyed as one of the best we'd ever tasted -- I will be ordering more!!
Also the beauty of the presentation but be mentioned. Worth the cost for the bag alone! And the dried mandarins are so cute!
This was a wonderful addition to our book club and I highly recommend it!

This is the second time I’ve ordered from Bana Tea. My first order was after reading Lisa See’s The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane (a fabulous book). Several friends who had also enjoyed that book joined me to sample all of the delectable teas in that kit. Then, while recently reading Lady Tan’s Circle of Friends, I ordered an individual kit with two teas selected to accompany that book. The tea arrived in a gorgeous Asian-inspired drawstring fabric bag. I have already consumed every drop of the high-quality, delightful jasmine tea. I can hardly wait to taste the 2021 vintage Green Mandarin Pu-era but am saving it for a time when my granddaughter can join me in the tasting experience.

I served the teas according to directions. My book club liked them and was impressed. I thought I would like the Mandarin type tea better, but I really liked the "silver".

This set isn’t just a thing - it’s an experience! The bag is beautiful and a pleasure to open to reveal what’s inside. The teas are amazing and the brewing instructions and tasting notes make the whole thing a special experience to be shared. I bought this for a book club meeting but am now trying to think of how many friends I can buy it for as a gift! Will also be restocking the silver needle tea for myself as it is heavenly.

My book club loved the Lady Tan’s Circle of Women. The beautiful and delicious Tea set enhanced the discussion. We brought tea cups that had special meaning to us and included it in the discussion. I have only tried one of the orange ones and was so pleased with it. Didn't need to put any sweetener in it. Since I am not a big tea drinker will try each one but not immediately but gradually. Our book group read Lisa See's "Lady Tan's Circle of Women" and I ordered the tea-tasting kit that Bana Tea prepared to accompany the book. The tea arrived in a lovely bag, with lots of explanatory literature to educate ourselves about tea, as well as instructions on how to prepare it. Truly it enriched our experience of the book and our gathering. We talked a lot about how much time Lady Tan spent preparing tea for her mother-in-law, and we enjoyed the time together to savor the tea and develop a new appreciation of Chinese tea and the tea ritual. I purchased 2 kits of the Lady Tan's teas, and they will make perfect gifts together with the book. Though I have not tried the tea and cannot comment on its quality, it can say that the kits are beautiful, and the jasmine tea smells amazing!!
