Vintage: 2019 Spring Harvest
Type: Raw Pu-erh (unfermented)
Grade: 1-3
Production area: Mengsong, Xishuanbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province

Taste characteristics:
The year this tea was harvested, Mengsong, as well as other tea producing regions in Xishuangbanna, Yunnan experienced a drought, drastically reducing output for the spring harvest. The good news is that teas produced during a drought are more intense in flavor. Leaves picked from centuries old tea trees in high mountains of Mengsong, this tea is rich, full-bodied, complex, and offers a quick and strong hui gan (minty mouth sensation).

A very good tea

By Seth Berg
I'm saving my five star rating for the best tea I will ever taste, but this is pretty close. It has a strong enough taste; it is smooth but not too smooth. I get a bit of green grass flavor, and a medium level of tingly mouth feel. Definitely a good tea for a fair price.
Our Response:

Seth, thank you for the high praise of this tea. A 4-star rating is a big deal when comes from you. Thank you!

Great puerh

By Neal Perrin
Really enjoyed how the flavor increased with each steeping crisp and clean. Would definitely purchase more.
Our Response:

The garden only produced 30 kilos this spring due to the drought. I bought them all.

!!!!!!!

By Jack
I used 8 grams of tea in a 5 oz gaiwan; I enjoy a more muscular brew. This was a mistake, as my socks were knocked clean off! I otherwise followed the recommended brewing times/temperatures.

On the nose honey, clove, alfalfa, dark chocolate. Throughout the brew there is a powerful initial hot toddy taste, if the latter is made with clove honey, which hastens to citron zest or timut pepper (you will miss this if you aren't paying careful attention) and broccoli sprouts. Now strong honey, and almond, almost amaretto-like. Ah, I could chew this tea! I get more spice than greenery. Cardamom/coriander, smoke, saffron, old tarragon. Then bitter: kale, arugula.

The description notes the hui gan to be quick and strong. If most hui gan is rich, this one is opulent.

For hui tian -- even one hour after my last cup there are waves and waves of menthol, peppermint (mind), sarsaparilla, plum, horehound, and California Everlasting. Qi is meditative. I can only image this tea in twenty years!
Our Response:

Your kind and detailed review is very appreciated. We could tell you truly enjoyed the tea experience. We can imagine this tea will only get better!
