Vintage: 2018 Spring Harvest
Type: Ripe (fermented) Pu-erh
Production area: Bulang Mountain, Menghai County, Yunnan Province
It is not often that ripe Pu-erh engenders a high degree of excitement but this one is definitely an exception: Thick, dense, bold and so delicious. This tea is made from ancient trees that are around 300 years old. The leaves have been fermented using the local mountain spring water. After the fermentation process completed, the tea was further stored for three years to stabilize its overall quality.
Premium leave source, perfect fermentation process, and good post-fermentation care are key ingredients for a good ripe Pu-erh. This tea has it all. As Master Chan advised Linda Louie, “I believe The Enchantment of Ancient Trees will be the best ripe Pu-erh you will have come across in recent years.”

A delightful sho pu-erh
I am saving this for a gift, but the fragrance is incredible.
First few recommended infusions 1-3 had a "seafood market" smell not that off putting but it was there. As the infusions went on 4 or more there was less of that market Nose. Taste was surprisingly clean Rich and earthy with a slight medicinal finish. Cake Label was embedded in the cake posed some challenges.
Cake label is called the 'inner ticket.' It is to be embedded in the cake as a way to authenticate the tea cake. Glad you enjoyed the taste of this tea.
Very good tea. I'm glad I purchased it.
Excellent and fast service. Beautiful Enchantment tea in lovely packaging.Thank you

I am very pleased with this tea. It is thick with a balanced sweetness, a unique and delightful fruit/berry undertone, and refreshing huigan. It is also very comfortable in the body, more so than most ripes I've tasted, which is consistent with premium ancient tea tree leaves. Certainly a tea that I would recommend to ripe puer enthusiasts looking for a premium tea to breakout when they want the good stuff.
The highest quality in pu-erh teas are those made from old trees. As you described, you can appreciate it with your body as well as your palate. Thank you for your kind review.
Bana has definitely spoiled me. I never knew Tea could taste so good. All the different types of tea I've bought from Bana have been Superb and this is another good one.Someone mention a fishy oder. The way to get rid of it is to dump the first brew out and rinse the leaves afterwards. The smell comes from the fermenting process not fish.
Thank you so much for your kind words and quality endorsement - it means a lot to us.
Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, Bana has spoiled me. I can never go back to drinking the tea I used to drink. My experience with this tea has taught me what really good tea is supposed to taste like.
You nailed it. The tea journey is a one-way street. Once you know what is good, it is hard to go back to the not-so-good. :)
An amazing, warming (not much hui gan for me, which I like in some teas like this one), pleasant in the body tea. Drinking this tea each morning puts a smile on my face!
Thank you and keep on smiling!
This is yet another top-notch tea offering from Linda Louie. I truly enjoy drinking this tea . . . it makes my day, every day!
Thank you so much for the kind words.
This tea has a bold, complex flavor (I almost want to describe it as having a 'metallic tang' but that sounds bad and I don't mean that in a bad way). It smooths out after a few brews into a less complex, more soothing flavor. I like that the flavor changes so much over the brews, it adds variety. I can tell that I need to drink this tea more to fully appreciate it.
Thank you for your nice review and high mark.
I am a novice and this is my first pu-era tea! I almost expected it to be unpleasant because of what someone had told me about their experience. So imagine my surprise when I fell in love! I loved this bold, earthy taste and the smell is a whole separate thing. I am very happy with my first choice!
Pu-erh comes in a range of qualities. We are so glad you were pleasantly surprised with the quality of our tea.
I have been enjoying the Ancient Tea daily and highly recommend it.
That's great!
This tea is aptly and elegantly named. It enchants you and entices you. It’s one of the best tasting Shou puerh teas. Clean, malty, deep and complex. Can’t go wrong with this !
Thank you, John, for the nice review--it speaks a thousand words.
Enchantment is the word for this delicious tea! It is full bodied yet delicately flavored with complex undertones. The rich lingering after taste doubles the enjoyment. Just the aroma of this deep red tea makes me swoon. I look forward to this tea all day!
I let Master Chan know about your comments. He was very pleased.
This tea, which I purchased a year ago, is quite lovely, and once I got proportions right for my small yixing teapot, it continued to be lovely through the 8th steeping. Thank you!
Very clean tasting, refreshing, ripe purr. A little difficult to start breaking apart. Multiple brews. Delicious.Website easy to follow & delivery was swift.
Thank you for the nice review and the kind words about our website and service.
As good as this puerh is now I can only imagine how great it will be in 5 and 10 years. Wish I could do a time Warp into the future. Enjoy this puerh very much.
It can only get better. :)
I am saving my 5 star review for a tea I haven't yet discovered that is the best ever; so this tea gets 4 stars. This tea has no flaws, it's extremely smooth and has a nice deep rich taste. None of the flavors are especially interesting, but it is well balanced with no off tastes. Worth the price.
Hi Seth, this is as good a review as I can get from you because you are such a discerning pu-erh drinker. I believe this tea will grow more interesting as the years pass. Thank for your review.
