Taste characteristics:
This tea is produced by the same factory as our best-selling The Taste of Menghai Ripe Pu-erh. Made with leaves from old-growth tea trees in the Bulang tea region, this tea is full-body, flavorful, and rich. What sets this tea apart from other ripe pu-erhs is its velvety, thick, and viscous texture and it's incredible mouthfeel. Ripe pu-erh of this high quality typically costs a lot more. However, because we were able to source it direct from the factory, we can offer our customers this tea for an affordable price.

Incredible

Wow. This tea blew me away. I absolutely cannot wait to buy more. It's yet another excellent ripe in Linda's carefully curated collection.

Thank you for your continued support. This tea is one of my favorites too.

So tasty

By Chris
I’m currently enjoying the end of my sample of this tea. I am for sure ordering a full cake. I was very surprised by the taste and experience. It is delicious and thick in the mouth. Its warming and brightening, yet grounding and relaxing. I can be very sensitive to the Cha Qi of tea. This is a very balancing experience for my body, and possibly a tea I could drink every day.

Thanks for your expert guidance Linda
Our Response:

So glad you like this tea as much as I do. It is a very tasty ripe.

Delicious and Comforting

By Julie
Very clean, smooth, thick tea. Has the feel of a forest walk after a needed rain.

Received this as a sample. Came back for a cake. Even when I forget the tea’s steeping, the taste doesn’t fail.
Our Response:

So glad you enjoy this tea. This tea has quickly become our best seller

Rich Robust Earthy Sweetness. Thick savory goodness a real winner everyday drinker. Just very enjoyable ripe puer hope to get more.

Thank you for your wonderful review. It is, indeed, an enjoyable ripe pu-erh.

Enjoyable

By Cameron Bruno
I don't like this one as much as the Taste of Menghai. Still great but feels subdued in comparison. It has a sweet nose, tastes clean and is smooth, but has a thin mouthful.
Our Response:

This tea is two years younger than the Taste of Menghai. It will continue to develop in the next few years.

Intriguing, fantastical

By Jack
I was lucky enough to share this tea with Wendy and Nathan (and friends!) of Callisto Tea House in the mountains among a grove of cedars. Truly an incredible tea -- there is a curious matrix of fruitiness and woody, earthiness going on. Similar to Hidden Gem; they're from the same factory, I believe. At this price its a steal. If I was into shou puerh I'd be buying Elephant Hill (or Elephant Mountain! lol) in droves. Qi is grounding, spirituous.
Our Response:

Thank you, Jack, for your kind words. Your tea hiking trip sounds so fun. Both the Elephant Hill and the Hidden Gem are made from arbor trees, thus offer good Qi and more complex flavors.
