Weight: 100 grams (as 20 individually wrapped mini tuo chas)
Type: Ripe Pu-erh (fermented)
Grade: unknown
Production area: Menghai, Xishuangbanna Prefecture, Yunnan Province

Taste characteristics:
Mini tuo cha is packaged in a single serving of 5g of tea leaves. It is convenient to use in the office and easy to carry on a trip. However, most mini tuo cha are made with commercial grade materials. In order to source a decent quality mini tuo cha, we knew we needed to press our own. After sampling many of ripe Pu-erh from Master Chan’s warehouse in Menghai, we carefully selected the base material for this tea. We also specified how tight we would want the mini tuo cha to be pressed so the flavor can be released quickly. This tea is rich and smooth, leaving a hint of sweetness in your mouth. If you are looking for a daily tea that is delicious and easy to brew, this tea is the perfect choice.

Brewing guide

To brew in a gaiwan:

Unwrap one mini tuo cha in a
gaiwan. Pour hot water (100°C/212°F) in the gaiwan and discard the water when the mini tuo cha starts to break up approximately 20 seconds) Pour hot water in the gaiwan again and steep to taste according to the suggested brewing time
below.

To brew in a cup:

Unwrap one mini tuo cha in a 6 oz. cup. Pour hot water (100°C/212°F) in a cup and discard the water when the mini
tuo cha starts to break up (approximately 20 seconds). Pour hot water in the cup again and steep for 20 sec. and drink. Refill hot water when you are ready for a second cup. For a good result, we suggest using a brewing basket and removing it from the cup when the tea has reached its desirable strength.

Great tea! Fun to read The Tea Girl from Hummingbird Lane and enjoy the history along with the tea!

Perfect for travel

By Dariel Garner
This is our favorite travel tea.
Throw a couple of tuo cha's in a thermos, fill it up with filtered hot water at any coffee shop and you are good to go!
No mess, no fuss...it gets richer and richer the longer it steeps.
Full body, hints of dried fruit and forest.
I like it so much occasionally I even drink this as thermos tea while sitting at my desk.

Mini Tuo Cha

By louise fong
Did not enjoy the flavor of this tea. Tasted different from other Tuo Cha I've had. Liked the size, though.

Delicious Tea

By Eva Van Buren
Delicious Pu-erh tea and outstanding website! Our book club read "Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane" and I was so glad that author Lisa See mentioned BanaTeaCompany.com in the Acknowledgments section. I bought the Ripe Pu-erh; the website has excellent and complete brewing instructions. I was also able to purchase a gaiwan set (very small tea set with tiny cups) online (Amazon). Everyone loved the tea and enjoyed the ceremony! Raves for the best book club meeting ever.
Our Response:

So glad that you all had a good time!

Tea as it's meant to be!

By Lisa T
As with many others, I found Bana Tea Company through Lisa See's book. I've been a tea drinker for years and have tried many of the large-scale sellers online. I knew I liked Pu-erh tea, but Bana tea, it's informative website, and their amazing products have turned that like into a full-fledged adoration! I've had so much fun learning about the different brewing times for various pours (8 out of one "serving" of leaves).

I haven't chosen a favorite yet, but Bana Mini Tuo Cha is on the short list. I recently took some cakes on a trip where we stayed in an airbnb. I didn't need any special equipment other than a single serve coffee maker to heat the water, my reusable bottle tea steeper, and a small bowl to keep the steeper in between steeps. I was able to enjoy the comforts of home the entire time! The flavor was simply fantastic every time.

I look forward to choosing my next Bana order!
Our Response:

Wow! Thank you so very much for the high praise! We are speechless, except we pledge to try hard to bring you the exceptional pu-erh tea that you enjoy.
