Vintage: 2017
Weight: 100g or 3.5 oz (8 to 10 pcs depending on the size of each piece)
Type: Ripe Pu-erh (fermented) stuffed into the shell of a green mandarin.
Production area: Green mandarin peel is from Xinhui, Guangdong Prefecture. Ripe pu-erh is from Yunnan Province.

This tea is 100% hand-crafted. Premium ripe pu-erh is stuffed into a hollow green mandarin shell, dried under the sun, and two tiny bamboo strips brace a lid to cover the opening of the fruit.

Mandarin fruits are picked at varying periods starting in July when the fruits are still green and not fully ripened. The fruits of these unripened green mandarins are not consumed but are perfect to blend with ripe pu-erh. The earthy flavor of the ripe pu-erh is enhanced by the tangy citrus flavor from the green mandarin peel, resulting in a refreshing and delicious drink, whether served cold or hot.

Mandarin peels are known for their soothing qualities. They can be aged since the fragrance and medicinal properties both improve over time.

Brewing guide

Remove the bamboo clasp and place the entire green mandarin in a cup or teapot. Pour enough boiling water (212ºF / 100 C) to cover the entire mandarin fruit. Wait for a few seconds and discard the water. This is a rinse. Fill the teapot with 6-8 oz of boiling water and start steeping for 1 minute. For subsequent brews, add 10 seconds each brew, or brew to taste.

Amazing Customer Service!

By Cynthia ODonnell
I ordered this tea as part of a gift for my daughter-in-law who is from Chengdu. When I placed the order, I missed the part where I could choose my shipping option, so I quickly emailed to find out if I could have it shipped faster. Not only was the shipping upgraded, but when the gift arrived it was beautifully wrapped with a hand-written birthday note! The tea itself is divine. I did not only order the type in this review, but several others as well. My DiL loves it! Thank you so much for your attention to detail and your fabulous customer service. I am about to place an order for myself. :-)
Our Response:

You are so welcome. It is our job to make sure your shopping experience with us is to your satisfaction. We are glad your daughter-in-law loves the teas you selected for her.

Delicious!

By Heidi McKee
I first purchased these in a sample pack and loved them so much I had to purchase a full package. Pu-erh tea is my favorite and packed inside a mandarin adds a wonderful, soft, sweet, slightly citrus taste.
Our Response:

So glad to hear you enjoyed the green mandarin pu-erh. The sweet, tangy flavor is a pleasant change from the usual earthy ripe pu-erh.

Great and Refreshing

By Steven Friedman
If you love pu’er and are open to twist, I highly recommend this pu’er partly aged in a green mandarin. It’s earthy with a touch of fruity. I love it.
Our Response:

The two flavors are so different, but they complement each other so well when put together. Thank you for your review.
