Blooming tea is both a beverage and a visual presentation. Artisans hand-tie steamed tea leaves around edible flowers—commonly jasmine, lily, or hibiscus—into a tight bulb. When placed in hot water, the bulb gradually unfurls, revealing the flowers nestled on top the opening tea leaves.

Crafting blooming tea requires skilled workmanship: the leaves and flowers are bound with the final display in mind. Made from high-quality spring-harvested leaves, these teas are enjoyable to drink and make an elegant centerpiece for tea parties.

Brewing guide

Use 1 bulb in a pot or cup. Use a glass brewing vessel to watch the tea bloom. Brew with 195 F water (90 C). Steep for 3 minutes or until the bloom has opened.
