Weight: 100g (14 pieces)
Type: Ripe Pu-erh (fermented) stuffed in the shell of a green mandarin
Production area:Green mandarin is from Xinhui, Guangdong, China. Ripe Pu-erh is from Yunnan, China

Green Mandarin Pu-erh is a popular scented tea produced in China. In the summer, unripened mandarin oranges are carefully picked and hollowed out. The empty fruit shells are then dried and stuffed with ripe pu-erh tea. The combination of the green mandarin peels and the ripe pu-erh allows the citrusy notes of the mandarin to infuse into the earthy, complex flavors of the pu-erh, resulting in a delicious and harmonious blend.

This tea is very easy to prepare, simply unwrap, pour hot water, steep briefly, and drink. The tea tastes flavorful even after multiple steeping.

*** Some green mandarin pu-erh pieces may have a layer of white substance on the surface. The white substance is known as "orange crystal oil," which is a crystalline substance formed by the precipitation of volatile oil in the orange peel. The volatile oil is one of the key components of Xinhui mandarin's food and nutritional value.

Like a hug 06/20/2025

I first tried this tea at the Pasadena Tea Festival in 2025. There I bought a bag of 14, and it was gone in a week! I just bought a bag of the new stock, which Linda recommended to me. Thank you! These are even better; I have had the bag for a few days and it is almost all gone! The easy spheres fit perfectly in my pot or gaiwan, and the malty orange taste and botanical/medicinal flavors are just the nicest complement to any time of the day. Frequently I will bring one or two to work, and steep and share with my friends or clients. If you like pu-erh on the go, get this one!
Our responseThe new batch is from 2024 harvest, which has a more potent citrus flavor than the old batch. Thank you for sharing our teas with your friends and for your endorsement.
