2007 vintage - spring harvest
Type: Raw (unfermented) Pu-erh (Grade: Premium)
Production area: Kunlu Mountain, Simao Prefecture, Yunnan Province
Taste characteristics:
Kunlu Mountain is a tea producing area that sits along the Ancient Tea Horse Road, and that has been acclaimed as "the Imperial Tea Garden." This tribute tea for the imperial family during the Qing Dynasty was made from trees in this area. Teas made from old trees in Kunlu Mountain are renowned for their high quality and collection value. As such they are in high demand and almost unattainable.
This cake was sold out in 2015 and we were unable to procure it again until recently from a collector in Shenzhen, where this cake has been aged. We are super excited to offer this exclusive tea to our customers.
Even though this cake is only 14-years-old, it already exhibits many characteristics of an aged raw pu-erh, namely the emergence of plum and honey flavors and the quick, yet gentle, hui gan (the cooling sensation felt after the tea is sipped). This tea is very elegant and smooth. Last but not least, it offers a calming qi that warms your body and soothes your spirit.
