Type: Raw Pu-erh (unfermented) Grade: Premium Production area: Lincang, Yunnan Province
Taste characteristics: It was recorded in Lu Yu’s “Tea Classic,” written in 7th century, that tea plants grown between rocks are the best because of the rich mineral content present in the surrounding soil. Over the years, Master Vesper Chan has been searching for just this type of tea tree during his tea sourcing trips in Yunnan’s high mountains. A couple of years ago, he finally came across trees fitting the legendary description in the book. Harvesting from these tea trees was not easy as the tea trees were scattered and the amount of leaves harvested was very limited. This tea has great depth and the flavors are elusive. After a few cups, you will likely able to transcend above your worries and relax your mind. This is indeed a rare find among all teas.
Available in the originally-wrapped twin pack or as a single tea cake.
BREWING INSTRUCTIONS: Use 5g of leaves per 6 ounces of water. Rinse the leaves twice with boiling water (200 degree F) and discard the water. Start steeping according to the recommended steeping times below.
Mountain tea08/25/2024 BySylvan Schneider Linda was very kind and let me sample this tea. This is definitely high mountain tea with a great mineral content and clean refreshing taste. This tea reminds me of hiking up in the high mountains with tall trees, running streams, and fresh air. After trying this tea I felt a medium to medium low sense of stimulation with a clear focus on my mind. It reminds me of sweet mountain spring water and being out in the high mountains. I found the taste to be clean and refreshing. My favorite part of this tea is the head feeling of being focused and how this tea reminds me of being up in the mountains. Our responseI agree with everything you said about this tea. It transports me to a high ground with fresh air and water fall. Thank you for taking the time to write the review.
Fantastic flavor!12/27/2021 BySara K. The early brews are mellow, round, and rich. In in the later brews the flavor becomes more specific/distinct. The best comparison I came up with, and it's bad, is that the flavor is like maple, but with no sweetness and umami added instead. Our responseYou are right on with the flavor description. I think the rocks nearby add more minerality to it.
Pure mountain energy03/11/2022 ByK Cohen I live at 9,000 feet elevation in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. The Stone Legend is so much in harmony with the energy here. Perhaps there is a spirit shared by all mountains here that connect with the mountains in Yunnan.
