This tea is sourced from the Tea Shop Horaido in Kyoto, the same shop where our Genmaicha is made. This tea is made from Yanagi, which is Spring’s second crop with leaves larger than Sen-cha. The leaves are roasted to remove the bitterness and grassiness. This tea offers a toasty and warm flavor, plus a creamy and round texture.

Houjicha is an easy and relaxing drink. Enjoy a cup in the evening after dinner, and get the "hit the spot" feeling.

BREWING INSTRUCTIONS:
Use 5g of leaves for 6 oz. of spring water. Heat water to 175 degree F water and steep for 30 seconds. For more tea, repeat and steep for 40 sec. The leaves should last 3 or 4 steepings.
